Thanks for the GPUZ shots, the overclocked 290X has a massive Pixel fillrate advantage over an overclocked 780, but the 780 has much higher Texture fillrate, I guess this offset causes similar performance overall with both cards clocked. Would like to see what kind of bench scores / game comparisons a 1200mhz+ core 290X can get.. Roll on non ref cards.

The thing about these sort of specs is just because a card is capable of them does not mean the workload will need them.

It is a bit like a Titan having 6gb of vram, @1080p it will only use a fraction of it.

Well I managed to get my hands on a BF4 edition one.

Only ordered it Monday , got it Wednesday while I was at work  (Was like a chiled when I got in :D)

Not bad considering there supposed to be hard to get now.

VTX3D is the brand, surprised OC never stocked them tbh!

Was in 2 minds with this brand, never had owt to do with them nor heard of them till recently , but thought that seen as its a reference card it dont really make a great difference.

But at £412 seemed a no brainer.

Anyone on here had VTX3d branded cards?

On a side note , the difference between my 5870 and this is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge

I had a vtx3d 6950 and it was great, unlocked the extra shaders and OC'd to 6970 levels

I also got a great deal on an MSI 290x for £388, but it's not in stock yet and I've already been waiting 6 days!

Good to know a few have had that brand without issues, Now just waiting for my bf4 code to work :(

Booked myself a slow Friday/weekend to play, Pre-ordered my lad it from amazon for his b/day. So he's hoping it comes tomorrow(today going on the time now).

I posted somewhere else that aida64 has shown vrm temps from day one... But no one listens. :p

Yeah I tried this and went into sensors but I can't see the vrm temp readings? Maybe i'm blind, never used it before. Perhaps there are some settings I need to apply?

Those going 290x crossfire be happy,
and LtMatt is going to faint now,

http://www.hardocp.com/article/2013...0x_crossfire_video_card_review/4#.UnOHquIeucU

Therefore R9 290X CrossFire is a lot faster than GTX 780 SLI in this game, and just edges out TITAN SLI.

A very important note to make, while the performance shown there shows the framerate, it does not relate the smoothness and feel of the game. In this, AMD Radeon R9 290X CrossFire was a lot smoother in Far Cry 3. We found that with both TITAN SLI and 780 SLI there was an extreme choppiness and stutter to the game. Whereas, with R9 290X CrossFire, it was a smoother experience. So far, in each game, a pattern is forming favoring CrossFire for smoothness on R9 290X CrossFire.

For reference: It took Fedex 12 days from wales to norway. Which is pathetic, and i paid about the same for shipping. Maybe a little less.

What did you do to get your 290x working in the end ranger?

edit: nvm have you confused with someone else :P They sent theirs back.
