Hey all,
I finally received my 5900x upgrading from my 2700x which i've been using in my system for a while now with no issue.
After installing the CPU the system seemed to boot to the RoG boot screen but then just hung there for about 30 minutes before I turned the machine off. Motherboard had the orange debug led on solid the whole time.
I then reinstalled my 2700x, booted successfully, installed the latest BIOS update from the asus website onto a usb drive, booted into bios and successfully updated my BIOS to the latest version (1401) using the EZ Flash 3 utility.
Unfortunately this didn't solve the issue, upon swapping back to the 5900x the PC still doesn't boot with it installed, orange light still showing, although now I don't even get the ROG boot screen or any video out.
Only other thing I can think of is that my 750w PSU is struggling. Although I've seen 3090+5900x machines running off this PSU without issue on a number of builds online.
I'm out of ideas and would really welcome any wisdom!
PC hardware:
B550-I Gaming Strix ITX mobo
R9 5900x
RTX 3090 (Zotac trinity)
Corsair SF750 80 plus platinum
Gskill Trident Z 32gb 3600Mhz CL17
2 x NVME + 1 x SATA drive.
Thanks!
