R9 Nano Review thread

how is it false? it is cheaper than the gtx 980ti at launch and in the review I linked to nearly matches it.

neither of which is false.

It nearly matches it in one game out of the 12 benched in the review you linked and you said "it's cheaper" not "it is cheaper than the 980Ti was at launch".

doesn't matter if its 1 or 12 , your just stating an opinion whilst I have actually linked support....

so as I said it can nearly match the gtx 980ti and costs on this launch day are remarkably similar. but then again some of the extremists on here , would still find nothing good to say if the damn thing was free

But that is not what you said.

Also, getting close in 1 game out of 12 is not "nearly matching"

so people laud over £1000 for a titan x but whinge over the fastest itx solution? really?

but no fanboys exist here do they....

ocuk sold out of titanx as they did for the similar priced gtx 980

this is the fastest card in itx format , yet its being slated by the same people who spent similar money on a gtx 980!

With this level of defence, I assume you have bought one?

+1

That about sums it up.

I also think AMD should be selling them for about £400.

This. At £400 and if they had a decent supply of them i think they would sell very well indeed, and rightly so.

It just shouldn't be more expensive than a 980Ti. AMD are bonkers.

that depends on what games you play on your 4k and which model it actually is - a good number on the market come with a DP port for 4k@60hz , maybe yours does or does not , I don't know??

A select few models by Panasonic = a good number, considering the total size of the 4K TV market?

How's your Nano/Nanos, how many did you end up buying?

since its now been 8 drivers since windows 10 launch and whilst SLI is sort of working now , 60hz over DP on my 4k screen doesn`t work *all the time properly* then I might well be moving and soon.

NVidia drivers in windows 10 are turning out to be aweful.

Sorry to hear but Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 have been flawless for me on my Titan X (user error I reckon). I can see you were defending in anticipation of buying a Nano and that makes sense. I look forward to your thoughts on the Nano and good luck :)

To be honest I think the Fury series cards the more interesting cards design wise in the recently years, it's just shame that they are not priced at levels attractive enough for people buy over the alternative. Also with the lack of HDMI 2.0, AMD really shot themself in the foot...had they support HDMI 2.0 which will allow the option of gaming on 4K TV, it would actually allow some consideration comparing to 980Ti...

if you read what I put, is said the 980Ti reference the cost - which is very true ; a 980Ti at launch was $699 day 1 prices (yes above rrp) so the fury nano is cheaper.

The 7970 was £450 quid on launch day but that's irrelevant on today's pricing were the 980ti is the best value high end card unless your one of the 0.28 percent that wants a very small sff build.

you can think what you like but windows 8.1 was perfectly fine with 60hz@4k - the change to windows 10 broke something and new drivers are not helping in that degree. and , I'm not the only 1 with problem with Nv drivers this time around.

so no gregster - its not user error. or shall I imply your cable issue with an AMD card was also user error...

Hey, people did imply user error :D

And you are quite correct, there is people with driver problems so fair one. Didn't you have a GTX 970 that you returned though because of the VRAM supposed issues? What have you got now?

gainward GTX 980 phantom

You amaze me. When the 970 supposedly had issues, you was so vocal and really hated on Nvidia but then you buy a 980? wtf dude lol? Anyways, enjoy what you have fella, not a dig and more of banter and hope you enjoy whatever you go with/stay with :)

I agree with this entirely. It's cool to see so much horsepower come out of such a small box... But he pricing for the Nano makes it a less than desirable product.

The Fury X isn't so bad in that respect, but due to 980Tis clocking really well, it doesn't shine well for the Fury X.

The 390/380 cards are where AMD really does shine though, and where they shined when I bought my 7970 in 2012; price to performance in the mid-high end.
