RAC Breakdown Coverage?

ASDA's buying power at work i guess, the packages look the same. Its a bit like the way some of us here subscribe to the german ADAC breakdown cover, its miles cheaper than the AA, yet here in the UK the AA are the ones that deal for ADAC :p

Personally i went with AXA via moneysupermarket, it was £32 for 12 months fully inclusive, home start, relay, the lot. Seems silly to pay any more when insurance companies offer it so cheaply.

if you look at the small print it is supplied by RAC ;)

edit: misread, you already knew that!

All of ASDA's insurance used to be through NUD/RAC and was almost always cheaper than going direct. Just a way of getting more business through 3rd party suppliers.

As far as i know, ASDA are the only ones who offer RAC cover direct

Okay... I've just made a decision and got it sorted. I extended my expired Škoda Assistance (run by RAC). I got 3 years with the car when new but it ran out in April 07.

That cost £145 for 2 years coverage, seems very similar to RAC Solution 4 (£128 / year) but it also includes European Assistance. Seems like a decent deal.

I've been doing a similar thing with my Yaris. Become a member of Club Toyota and you get Full RAC membership with all the bells and whistles worth ~£250, for £55/year. It also gave you a few other benefits which I never used. Thankfully the RAC was only ever called out once and that was because I ran out of fuel on a big junction on the M27, 1 mile from the motorway services..gutting!

hmm my rac runs out this month, I might take up the asda offer seems a lot cheaper. I once broke down within a mile from home we rolled it and semi ran it for another mile and called them as didnt have home start :D
