Race - WTCC

Anyone got this off Steam or even in store yet?

Was thinking about purchasing for my first foray into PC racing games, as enjoyed TOCA 1/2 on PS1 back in the day.

(I like Touring Car racing)

Anyway, would be nice to hear some good things about both offline and online racing

Not even tried offline yet, but it's good online, netcode isn't quite as good as LFS but on a decent dedicated server you can quite happily get 15+ racers in a close pack without lag issues.

I'd say you'd probably need a wheel for it though.

is it more hardcore sim then?

i was hoping for a sim, but with an easy enough to pick up and play feel

Ive got it through steam. Its pretty good it does have a little of the old toca feel to it. Ive just been playing online unforunately the only servers i could find had like 450 ping

Ive been playing with a xbox 360 pad and its surprisingly good. Im sure it would be better with my momo wheel but i cant use that at the moment.

That's very strange, every time i've played over the last week the server list has bought up at least 20+ european based dedicated servers!

got a copy for my sins

plays pretty good, though I would prefer a better 'behind car' view - i like higher up angles so I can judge corners better

good fun online, though came across a couple of idiots who took out half the field in the first corner

should keep me entertained for a while

Please don't ever pass your driving test if you feel you need to be 10ft above a car to judge a corner.

Tried the demo, found it quite good.

Wasnt really my cup of tea so i gave it to my dad and now hes hooked

I love it, plays great on thr DFP, and monza looks incredible. I drive from the bonnet cam, rather than inside.
