Hi,

I have just bought a Fanatec GT DD Pro for my son and I'm looking for a cockpit that suits this set up.

I have a budget of around £500 for the cockpit/seat

I was going to get the Playseat Evolution but after reading some reviews it looks like it's bit unstable for the Fanatec and can tip over due to its weight.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

The SimLab GT1 Evo should be all the cockpit you'll ever need.

I bought a seat off eBay out of a real car for £50 and attached it to my rig so that's an option if you feel comfortable doing so. Just get one with flat seat rails (mine was out of a Mk 4 or 5 Mondeo) and the most modification you'll have to do is cutting the locating posts off the rails if it has them.

Otherwise SimLab, GT Omega, TrakRacer, etc. all sell seats at various prices or you could look up places that sell racing seats (SportSeats4U is one) or try eBay. You can often get a bargain on used sim racing seats on there.

If you're willing to go 2nd hand you could get a decent aluminium profile for under £500 and add a seat if it doesnt come with one. Got mine inc seat for £400 from the bay.

As well as it being sturdy enough for DD, you'll then have the option of easily modifying / adding to in the future.

For example a quick ebay search , theres a Simlab P1X ( no seat ) for £500, and on Facebook marketplace saw a similar 8040 profile rig for £300.

A cheaper option is from Si Turnbull. He supplies aluminium pre cut frames for simming for very sensible money. I just add a s/h seat from an MX5 to mine. Total cost was under £250

Can get an GT omega prime cockpit under £500 At the moment I just got one very solid and can request the Fanatec wheel deck that fits your base

I'm new to all this too, I asked the same question and was pointed towards the prime, I'm not at all disappointed.
