Racing Community

I was wondering if any of you guys know of or belong to any friendly racing communities? Am looking at getting involved in some online racing across multiple games. F1 2011, Dirt 3, Shift 2 are the sort of games I am playing at the moment, but I'm looking at some Simbin games and with all the racing goodness that is coming in the next 12 months I was wondering what the best way to get involved was.

Race2play, Racedepartment are all online communities that satisfy what you are looking for,
Though be aware that they race simulations, like the simbin series, R-factor etc and don't cater for games like dirt (at least on race2play anyway).

You will def need a wheel and pedal set, if you don't have one already. The g27 is a great wheel but can prove pricey, Or you could look at it`s little brother, The Logitech driving force gt.

Race Department is a good place, caters for sims mostly though.

+1 for the G27, shop around you can get it for a decent price which included a nice pedal set too unlike the expensive and fragile Fanatecs.

I just played F1 for the first time since before the patch and its ruined my game. Performance loss and constant hard lockups, online looks dead too . . . last CM game I buy.

I got the G27 on release and shortly after got the wheel stand pro. Brilliant wheel although a little noisey. If i was to buy another i'd pay a little more and get a fantech porsche wheel as they're quieter. #

The only racing game i've played online is GT5 on the PS3

I have my G27 arriving on Monday, this is what's spurring me on to get into a race community. I think once I get my new wheel I will try and focus on sim racing a little more. Race Injection seems like a good place to start?

I'd recommend Race2Play. Had a thoroughly good time racing there.

If you can afford it, give iRacing a try. It really is a great place for excellent racing

We have our very own DiRT3 Time Trial going on - we're not racing online against each other, but another entrant to throw up a time every couple of weeks would be welcomed!

My name on there is Terry James, Not raced for a while as I am looking at building my own rig, For me the desk just dont cut it anymore...Btw, I race for phoenix racing @ race2play!!

Edit: R-factor 2 beta is out and is looking good.....Check out Racedepartment`s forum and look for R-factor 2 vids

Ahh cool, I'm Craig Wise on there. I raced for Marsh Team Racing, Evolution and pinnacle. Looks like you started the week i left

You must have raced with Brian Fairley at phoenix racing? He used to be in MTR and Pinnacle with me.

Really enjoyed racing there as a team

They're hoping to iron out the handling and what not right now.

It is alpha after all.

Yes, I have raced with Brian, A nice guy too.....I don't think evo and pinnacle are there anymore are they?

I agree mate, any game in aplha is not gonna be bug free, This is the one game, along with gtr3 that I am most looking forward to and hope they can deliver really good physics for the end product.

It is strange we are all looking forward to GTR3 because all we've had is a beautiful sounding car going through a race track and 1 in-game shot. No gameplay but we're still quite happy knowing it's coming.
