Racing game for a beginner

I've just got myself a Logitech G29 and looking to test it out in a racing title, not too clued up on this genre so I'm looking for some help.

I'll most likely try out the other titles mentioned at a later date.

Bit of an update, bought ProjectCARS

So that's AC and PCARS that I'm testing currently, had the courage to go pro mode without all the assists minus the racing line while I'm learning how to drive around Monza in a BMW Z4 GT3. Lost count of the times I've lost control of the Z4 in AC, feels more realistic than PCARS for sure. Also PCARS has more of a game feel to it when compared to AC.

Is there a better track/car combination that I can test my novice skills on?
