Racing Game you can Mod?

Anyone know of a decent racing engine you can mod? Ive read about Race 07 being modded but it seems to nearly impossible to find any information on it.

I'll be putting my own cars / tracks and car physics (setup) into it. And possibly a new front end. But the core engine will remain untouched. Needs to have suppot for Dx8+ shaders.. And more on the sim side of racing..

This site just lists cars and tracks made by other people. I have my own cars and tracks... just want the race engine to put them in.

I'll look into Rfactor.

nintenjo, Race 07 uses the rfactor engine.

Rfactor is by far the best mod-able racing game, and its a sim.

Rfactor and GTR2 are probably the most popular sim racers to mod.

Yes GTR2 is again the ISI (Rfactor) engine.

But the later ISI engine version (I presume race 07 has the latest one) supports much higher polygon counts and various other graphical advancements over the current GTR2.

The thing is with rfactor though is you don't get many cars with it. It was obviously meant just as an engine release in a package so the mod makers can mod to their content. You'll tend to see many mods for GTR2, but they tend to have been made for rfactor first, then converted.

You also get a career mode on RF, where you can buy upgrades such as better wings/body kit etc, so it should suite your needs. It also has a well known modding community (Rfactor Central) to share and get opinions of your mods/tracks/cars.
