I'm looking for a decent PC racer, currently considering LFS and GTR I'm also curious as to see if a PS2 logitech force wheel can be adapted for use on a PC, any feedback would be appreciated (no pun intended :) )

Which wheel is it?

The Driving Force Pro just plugs in and works with the newest Wingman Drivers.

Genius idea I just had!

Just plugged it in an it works with the GTR demo but I get no feedback. I'm guessing that's a driver thing, do I need the Wingman drivers or the Formula Force GP drivers?

As for game, You seem to be looking at sim racing games rather than arcade ones, so other than the two you've mentioned you could try looking at both Grand Prix Legends (old game, but with updates looks ok, and realism/physics wise it's awesome, best i've played) and GT Legends (only played the demo but it was rather good :))

Agreed with Beano, as I have a Grand T psp steering wheel and it just plugs in and off you go with the logitech drivers.
Feedback will only work if it is part of the game, ie: Trackmania Sunrise (no) vs NFS:MW (yep)

have fun mate, and you also have made a saving I expect :)

Something to note.

In GTR/GTL you might need to set the feedback strength to a negative number for it to work properly.

I'm not sure about your wheel, but you definately need to with the Momo and DFP.

Thanks for all your help guys, I downloaded the Formula force drivers, i have a feeling they are the same thing as the wingman anyway (driversuite type thingummy)

I can now say that I am so much happier than a well fed pig in **** that has just had his wicked way with Miss Piggy

Financial saving and now my wrists will ache while sitting at the PC for all the right reasons :D

Cheers again guys!

yes all logitech wheels require you to "reverse effects" in all racing sims i've tryed it with which includes GTR/GTLegends.

i'd recommend buying GTLegends or Rfactor at the moment, both have amazing physics, graphics and online multiplayer code.

i own GTR, GTL, Rfactor, RBR.
GTL gets the most play without a doubt.
i like the retro cars, but its the online play what keeps me playing it.

rfactor has so much potential as a modding platform, but at the moment the modding scene seems rather unorganised, saying that though it has steadily gotten better recently, things seem to be coming together. but it still suffers from too few drivers online though.

.

No need to reverse the effects here :)

I think GTR is ahead of LFS so far, will take a look at Legends.
