Hi all

Thought I'd share with you all a project that my brother and I have started. Basically we are taking his 1997 1.7 Ford Puma and hoping to spend the next 12-18 months turning it into a RallyCross entry (ala recent Top Gear episode).

Here is our blog: http://racingpumaproject.blogspot.co.uk/

Please hit a Google Ad, the project is in dire need of cash!

Cheers

EDIT: For those of you confused by my choice of subject this isn't a "Ford Racing Puma" limited edition. They were only available from 1999 onwards and this is a 1997 1.7 123bhp model. This is Project to take a stock Puma racing...

Interesting looks like a fun project, what are your plans for the car? just basic race prep?
or are you going all out? what about the engine? modifying the 1.7 or are you gonna drop something different in there?

Initial plans are strip it out, minor tweaks and track day it a few times to get a feel for it and see what changes we can make to help handling etc. From there it will be making the basic MSA entry requirements (roll cage, racing seat, engine kill switch, fire extinguisher etc...) No plans on engine modification at the moment... Bit beyond our skills and wallets for the time being!

You're going to take a limited production run frankly great car, rip everything out of it... then destroy it on a rallycross course?

Such a shame

Yes guys it isn't a "Ford Racing Puma" limited edition. They were only available from 1999 onwards and this is a 1997 1.7 123bhp model.

there is only the one ad as far as i can see?

if i have one tip to give to anyone doing a project it is to take many pictures, photograph everything-the car, the garage, the parts, the missus, the dog/cat anything and everything

Yeah Google alternates between one and three ads. So whatever is there ;)

We've been doing lots of pics and some videos. But only the better ones are making it to the blog. We will probably create a gallery of the others at some point... But at the moment they are being saved in Facebook album.
