Hey All,

I have recently purchased a TrakRacer TR8 Pro cockpit as I am getting into sim racing.

Currently my PC is located in my office/study and I want to run my sim rig in another room with a TV hopefully @ 4k 120hz.

I would like to know the best way of doing this as I will need to pass HDMI 2.1 and USB to the room where my rig will be from my study which I think shouldn't be more than 15m-20m away (in cable length).

My thoughts were optical HDMI and USB however I don't know what cables are good and capable of providing what I am after.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, the PC I will be using is in my signature.

I believe you'd need an active USB cable for that distance, bit pricey from what I've seen, but simpler if you don't need to carry power.

I'm sure more knowledgeable people will be along shortly.

So thought I would report back with what I ended up doing.

I continued my research and with the greatest respect decided to go for a cable based solution.

In the end I decided not to use a TV and mounted a 49” 165hz AOC monitor to my rig.

I then ran very long fibre optic display port cable and a USB B to A cable with a signal booster built in back to my PC. This means all my equipment plugs into the monitor USB ports and then the upstream port takes everything back to the PC, I also ran these cables through the wall for extra neatness.

Results are fantastic I get full 5120 x 1440p at 165hz with not artefacts and no slow downs.
