Okay guys. I bought myself a Playstation VR headset for racing games mainly, I got a Cronus Max Pro to use with my Logitech G27 on the Playstation 4.

Sadly the support for racing games is really poor. Project CARs isnt supported, the only game is Gran Turismo Sport and you can not play the proper game only, a VR mode so sadly I'm left really disappointed with it. I do really love GTS in VR mode though, it's such a blast. I'm thinking I should have bought the Oculus Rift instead now they are £399. I'm thinking maybe of getting the Rift for PC and using that.

Do you need a fancy GFX card or anything? I have a Geforce 970 GTX but I have a standard 1080P monitor.

How does the video quality look on the Oculus Rift compared to the PS4. Do I need a webcam like PS4?

Thanks

The rift comes with everything you need, no need for extra peripherals. A 970 is what I used and was in the adequate category. I switched to a 1070ti which was obviously better, but a 970 works fine on medium settings. As for quality, never tried a PS but I should imagine theres lots of comparisons out there.

I hope it's as good as people are saying, cos my expectations are pretty high now.
Been watching loads of videos of people saying it's crazy good.

Love sim racing so can see it being awsome

The immersion is incredible, but to keep your expectations in check the resolution is poor and probably needs another generation or two for it to be perfect.

Max out the super sampling on that 1080i. The resolution isn't gold standard, but it isn't dirt poor either, certainly not in pc2 or assetto with a 1080i.

Racing in VR requires a wheel though, it's hard to get the 1/1 experience without, and even better with some sort of racing rig.

Yeh I have a g29 now with brake mod coming that will do.

Pretty concerned about the resolution but I'm that concerned that I'm thinking it will at least match what I'm thinking, if not better.
