Picked up RFactor recently and it's fantastic, but it became immediately apparent the old ps2 joypad is not up to the job:p

I'd like to get into the sim racing more seriously so looking to invest in a decent wheel, pedals etc.

From what i've read it looks like coming down to a G27 or Fanatec. I'm sure i can get hold of a decent nick used G27 complete with pedals/shifter for about €150.

But i have my eye on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS V2 CSR Elite Edition EU Bundle @ €259 new, shifter is another €60.

So basically is the Fanatec kit worth the extra money? or maybe there is different kit i should consider

Depends how serious you are really. I've used both and some others too (Thrustmaster T500 included).

The G27 is a great choice and unless you are looking to get hardcore into competitive racing I don't think the 911 wheel price is justified (It's pretty expensive for what you get really).

Another thing to consider is the G27 has Logitech's fantastic customer support (Even if you aren't the original owner they will normally still look after you). From what I can tell is Fanatec is hit and miss.

:EDIT: In fact I'd pick the Thrustmaster over the Fanatec for that kind of money.

Yeah from what i read wheel wise the G27 is really superb for the money, but the pedals and shifter not so much. Had a look at the Thrustmaster but it's megabucks!

The second hand G27 which i had my eye on was snapped up before i got in there.

So in the end splurged on Fanatec... GT3 RS V2, CSR Elite Pedals, CSR Shifters and ClubSport Table Clamp. Beans on toast for the rest of the month;)
