I'm looking for a product ideally opensource that will deal with rack information and all associated parts. i.e. the following;
The last and important feature is that it must have a rich API for data loading, manipulation and reading across to other applications.
I've just had a quick look at Netbox which seems promising but lacking in terms of the connections especially to patch panels and the like, and to be honest it seems a little immature at the moment possibly.
Next ones I'll be looking at are;
Ralph
Device42 (Pretty pricy so may be out)
Just wondering what other people are doing if anything and what tools you're using? I desperately need no more visio diagrams of racks and excel spreadsheets with patching info in them.
- Patching Schedule
- Rack Positions
- Device Weight
- Device Connections
- Heat Output
- DC view / Hall view with rack positions
- Rack relationships i.e. Country/Site/Hall/Group/Role/Rack or similar
- State of devices i.e. Planned / In Place
