Rad 9800Pro 128mb Dead?

I have a semi-dead 9700pro here that works great until you run a game. it artifacts like crazy. it also decided to shut the machine down and wouldnt restart until i put the original video card back in
what is it about these radeons? they all seem to die the same way

i just took my 9800 pro out fmy case to give my case a good clean
when i put it back to together again pc would boot but no picture on screen
i checked the 9800 and the fan wasnt spinning at all, (molex was connected though)
so i tried the card in my main rig and same thing, looks like the card is dead
is there any quick fix for this? this card has hardly been used as it was in my 2nd rig, gutted!
