hi,
im hoping someone here could shed some light on this one, im assuming that I have a faulty graphics card but im really hoping not.

ok heres the deal..
I hit the power it takes a long time then gives me one long beep and three short beeps.. (i have asus p5k, just the standard one) which as per the manual means no VGA detected.. now the odd thing is that every now and again it boots up, I cant even access the bios to have a tinker around there to see if anything is up with that..

now my only other question would be if the monitor would cause this issue (unsure if its looking for the monitor when detecting VGA) is it is then id assume its that, as im using a TV (no monitor handy atm)

thanks for ANY help with this.
Dan

oh and just to add if this helps, when I manage to get it booted up, then the computer restarts, the beeps come back and no display, at the moment im taking out the graphics card then putting it back (though Im assuming that this is an issue with power, im about to test just unplugging it for a while, the problem im having is I dont have an OS installed yet.. thanks again

ok panic over, for whatever reason it would seem that my PCI-E 16X slot 1 isnt working, with it in slot 2 working like a charm just going through a vista install now, wanted to go onto xp but alas my disk has disapeared fingers crossed things go a bit smoother now, had no end of trouble, I managed to fry my PSU yesterday by flicking the switch from 230v to 110v in an attempt to rectify the issue with the graphics card alas it didnt work and glew a bright green lol.. im just glad there wasnt a fire to be frank, last time i flick a switch on a PSU I think.
