My lad has been a dedicated console player but looking over my shoulder while I was playing the SWTOR beta, now he likes DC universe and has shown an interest in this title on PC. I was thinking of knocking him up a system from my famous box'o'bits to get him started and if he gets into it I'll get him something better. I also have a dual core Athlon X2 and 2 gig of ram. I realise this is way lowballing but from what I have seen it doesnt look that demanding a game. Anyone running the game on low end systems?

My system is not exactly like the one you are suggesting I am currently on a Dual Core, Geforce 8800GTS 640mb OC, 2GB ram.

I can play Skyrim fine on low settings, but the second I played SWTOR in the beta my machine just bombed, it looks like it should run on a low end machine but believe you me it doesn't :)

That was everything on the lowest setting as well.

It was playable if you could cope with the random spikes and slowdown outside, and the stutter.

I am just about to upgrade this week :P

Minimum specs would indicate otherwise, maybe it was a beta thing. It meets most of em

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4000 or better / Intel Core 2 Duo Processor 2.0 Ghz or better
Memory: At least 1.5 GB RAM for XP / 2 GB or better for Windows Vista/7
Graphics: ATI XT1800 or better / NVIDIA 7800 or better / Intel 4100 or better. 256 MB minimum video RAM, shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card.
OS: Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7
DVD-ROM: 8x or better

Yeah that's what I thought too, I was able to run it just not very well lol. I was playing in the last two weekends of the beta so one would assume not much would change before launch. Either way I am building a new PC :)

The minimum system settings never usually include what resolution you are playing at. With this, that information is key!

I'm playing with the onboard 15-2500k GPU and it handles the game fine circa 30 fps on lowish settings 1680 x 1050. It's meant I haven't had to buy a GC yet given I'm only playing this and TF2. Has kept cost to a minimum.
