Hi all,
Ive just bought a second radeon 5850 vapour-x and gone crossfire.
Questions:
Whats the best drivers to use?
How do i tell if crossfire is working?
It Ati control centre, Diagnostics box for crossfire is empty, is this right?
Im getting some tearing and image problems in a couple of games i tried, any idea?

Thanks in advance for help.

I have crossfired 6870's and yup the disgnostic box for crossfire is empty (and rather useless).

If the diagnostic box is empty then CrossfireX is working.

For corrupted images, please check to make sure both cards are stable. A good pick could be folding@home GPU client for ATI cards. If both cards can run without errors for like 12 hours, then it's a safe bet to be the problem with the drivers, not the hardware.

Im running the latest 11.2 drivers, are these the best?
will maybe put them under stress and check temps, whats best software for getting accurate temps of the GPU cores?

Thanks all.

Stuck my second 5850 in this morning and all is well with the new 11.2 drivers. GPU-z is probably the best for reading GPU temps.

***Edit*** Benchmarks work fine but games are a different matter. They are either stuttery as hell or lock up followed by a bsod. Need to try to sort this out or the second card is going back.

There is a tool to check if it's working. Right click the CCC, chose your primary adaptor and click the "display onscreen logo" (or something along those lines).

When you enter a game, a big crossfire logo appears at the top of the screen to assure you everything is working properly.

ran 3dmark 11 pro last night and got p7568 on performance settings.
Anyone got any comparison results?
Is this a resonable result?

thanks in advance

In your sig, it looks like you are OCing. You'll obviously need to find out each card's limits separately. Also test if the stuttering occurs at stock.

Not changed the siggy. Both cards were at stock. Given up now. I have wasted a day and a half trying to get them to work properly. Back to the single Asus as in siggy.
