Radeon 7970 artifacts

I've had a 7970 (Twin FrozrIII), immediately after installing it around 2 months ago I'd only get small artifacts in games when pushing it pretty hard. I thought this was fair enough so just eased back a bit and let it settle down. I've just come home to see that I'm now getting artifacts intermittently on browser pages and the desktop!
Is there something I might have done, or does it sound like the card is faulty?
It was slightly overclocked using afterburner, but it happens with or without it on.
Also, when I say artifacts, I mean I'm getting multi-coloured blocks/ lines appear.

I'm having the same problem with a 7950 MSI TF3, but my card is new... 1st day after 3 hours of gaming it started to artifact, on the second day took me more than 8 hours to get the same problem.... 2 days ago I left my pc running a benchmark in loop and went to work, when I came back the card was artfacting a little bit. If I restard the pc it stops.. but I'm sure the card is fault.

AFAIK there is a problem with large amounts of MSI TF cards. Best to check with seller about returning it if it is one of them.
