Radeon 7970 GHz !!

I think its the same GPU but with a different bios

The guys in the red team can give you a more detailed answer than me.

Sooooo where can I find them ?

Theres plenty of them on this forum - they tend to come out late at night.:)

I have just started to use HD 7970s but don't know a huge amount about them. You really need one the pros to explain in detail if you need a better answer.

Pretty much this. Same GPU, different BIOS. Honestly it's better to get a normal 7970 and overclock it yourself, it's very easy to reach 1ghz.

Heck, even a 7950 can do it. Maybe get a 7950 instead and overclock that to save some money :p.

That's a standard 7970.

To be honest the GHz Edition is just a gimmick. The standard edition 7950/70s are better IMO and they're cheaper.

Okay guys , thanks for details. This is my first gaming pc , i mean my first proper gaming machine which I build by myself and I don't really know how things work . that's why I ask stupid questions. :(

Soo , I should get a standard 7970 instaid the ghz version or gtx 680 lightening?

Will you be overclocking your graphics card?

A 7950 is considerably cheaper, will clock up to 1100 MHz quite easily and be within 5% of a 7970 at a fraction of the price.

So you mean that the 7950 will overclock almost to the speed of 7970 Ghz and perform the same ? 70 fps maxed out farcry 3 and 70-100 bf3 ? o_O
And btw , never overclocked a card :| .. I don't even know how

A 7950 @ 1100 MHz will perform almost identically to a 7970 GHz Edition out the box.

When a 7950 and 7970 are clocked to the same clock speeds the 7950 is only 5% slower.

5% is not a lot

e.g.

7970 = 100 FPS
7950 = 95 FPS

7970 = 70 FPS
7950 = 67 FPS

And so on... :)

It's worth stating that the 7970 will of course overclock as well but both the 7950s and 7970s top out on average around the same point making the 7950 better value for money overall at only 5% slower and ~40% cheaper.

Okay, so do you think this system is worth the money or I am about to spend money for same results while i could get it cheaper :

Concerning the above list of components : you'd be better off making a thread in the General Hardware section (I should think the choice of cpu / mobo / case and ram should be fine. Maybe consider a Seasonic psu, though Corsair are excellent, too.) :)

Looks OK to me mate but as arc@css says the best place is GH.

I would just change the GPU (if you're OK with overclocking it) to a 7950.

Either of these are good cards:

I THINK I am ok with overclocking (never done that though) but does the 7970 can be overclocked to an even higher standard ?

Not really, since both the 7970 and 7950 are based on the same GPU chip, both overclock to pretty similiar levels.

Talking about the price the 7950 , 7970 , gtx 680 are under 500£ and 100-150£ difference between them .. as I am going to build this pc whatever the price is (not more than 1300£) I want to get the best I can and I cannot decide :|

The 7950 and 7970 both "top out" around the same point. The 7950 just starts off from a lower point than the 7970.

If you had two identical silicon quality GPUs - one 7950 and one 7970 - that both overclocked to 1200 MHz then the 7970 would only be 5% faster. :)

I don't personally think that's worth paying an extra 40% for but the "worth" part of it comes down to you.

If you're not going to overclock and just want plug and play then the 7970 you linked is a good option.

Thanks for information man ! but coming back to overclocking stuff I cannot say that YES I am a overclock' pro because I HAVE NEVER DID THIS EVER BEFORE (not shouting :D ) soo .. I don't even know how to do it and what are the risks and how easy / hard is to do.

There's 4 things you change all in 1 program (MSI Afterburner) so it's nice and straight forward, even more so than clocking your CPU (which you'll need to do).

You put the power limit to maximum, core speed to 1100, memory speed to 1500, core voltage to 1150mV.

Test for stability and tweak from there. People will help here / elsewhere :)

Okaaay , well thank you very much for the time and details ! "Helps a lot -wallet" I am done for today , my life is complete now (huhuhehe).
