Just picked up a rad 9200 to finish a shuttle (nforce3) based tv box i'm building, but the red led near to the agp slot lights up and the machine doesn't start.

I tried it in my daughters shuttle (nforce2) and it does the same thing. :(

Is this a duff card, or just imcompatable with my motherboards?

Cheers

i cannot bloody believe this :/:/

(i sold this card to him btw)

does the card have any signs of physical damage? - have you been running ig? set your board to run from the agp slot

it was deffinatly working when i sent it, i took it straight from my pc and wrapped it up

Never crossed my mind that it could be otherwise, it has been in the hands of the Royal Mail ...

The shuttles start using the nvidia cards i've got, but not this one :( Nvidia is nice, but the ATI card has got a hardware based tv-out which the machine can boot from. Or so i'd hoped (sob)

all i ca think is that the card could be set in 2x mode (higher voltage - think its the jumper on the card) or it got damaged in post mate

either way, give it another try, and if it still aint having it just send it back, and ill test it take it up with royal mail if it got damaged in post (obviously ill refund you)

On my mobo a red light on next to the AGP slot = incorrect type of AGP card for slot (e.g. an AGP2x card in an AGP8x slot)

Wouldn't be surprised if that was the case, especially with the card it is.

wonder if it can set it to boot from the tv-out somehow? :(

If you boot it with the only thing plugged in to the card being the TV, and the TV is turned on it should boot to TV-Out.

It won't boot on to TV-Out if it can't find the TV though (hence why the TV needs to be on at boot). That's been the case each time I've tried TV-Out on various cards anyway.

Everything else is getting through, try it again.
