i've got both spare, putting into an amd 1700+ (clocks to about 2.4iirc)

to be used as a quake + cs machine

which is best!?

thanks

The 9600 will look better because it has specular. An should be faster. Overclock it!!! My 9600 was abeast of an overclocker.

people what are you talking about the 9600pro is a much better card, and when oc'd mine ran BF2 all medium @ 1024x768 with 4xAA and high TF fine and i'd love to see a TI4400 do that at all. well he says quake n CS, which versions? 1.6 then either will do, quake 1-2 any will do, q3 or 4 def the ati, and CSS loves the ati so thats no brainer. id def go for the 9600

I'm talking about the non pro...and hes only playing quake and CS.

just quake 3, cs 1.5 + a few other multiplayer games with crapper graphics

system will be very heavily nlited xp, athlonxp @ 2.4ghz, 2x256mb ddr on whatever hard drive

9600 (non pro)
ti4400 (reference model)

won't be enabling AA or any special features, just a pc made of spare parts for one off lans etc, not REALLY worth selling it all, would rather have the odd weekend of an extra player :)

don't want the pc to make any noise, so won't be overclocking the gpu as i don't have any blocks for it and the 9600 is fanless, so i'd have to make a cooler for the 4400 if i used that

going to use the 9600 i think
