  • We talking about the same ATi 9800Pro from ~2002-2004 with 128mb of RAM and supports DirectX 9?
  • We also talking about the Same Battlefield 3 which uses the Frostbite DirectX 10 engine?

Whoah, this thread reminds me of my youth :D

Lets get a picture in here....

Never had the PRO or xT, but I did have the SE, which was a rather nice card. I unlocked the remaining pipe lines, which resulted in PRO performance. :)

I still have a Club3D 9500np that had used "pencil approach" and modded it to 9700pro :D (with the relevant bios change) and heavily overclocking it.

Ahh good old days, when the card wasn't hidden under a huge heatsink :)

As for the Athlon MP2500 what a chip. I bought an Abit AN7 back then, and had it running at 2.4Ghz. (replaced an Athlon Tbird 1000 oc at 1.450Ghz cooled by a peltier and my first watercooling solution)

And the system run like that until Christmas 2006, where got replaced by a Core2Duo E6600 and a BFG 8800GTX (still have the t-shirt that came with) :D

Sure bring back the memory! R9800pro and that dodgy R9600 mobility were the last cards i bought before work takes over and start using laptops and ps3! Quite a jump from that to now tri-fire 7970 XD
