My Windows Vista Ultimate was running fine with my Opteron 148, today I fitted my new Opteron 170, and now my radeon 9800 driver is disabled in Windows, says it has a problem, and no matter what I do, I cannot get it to load the Vista 9800 driver.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

John

:( No matter how much I try, I cannot get the Vista radeon drivers to install.

All I did was change the CPU, and when I booted up the graphic card had a problem with the drivers

I reinstalled windows Vista, same thing, I will take the card out and recheck it. Windows boots up ok, just says it has a problem and disabled the drivers.

Whats strange is I have a dual boot, in Windows XP its fine.

hmm, this has deffo been brought up a few times now i just can;t remember the fix.

can you disable aero and then try and see what happens with standby.

Aero is automatically disabled when it goes into Vista because of the graphics card problem, next I will try reloading Vista without any overclocking and see if that helps.

Thanks

Dont know if its related, but in Windows XP, Control Panel/system/hardware my graphics card is shown twice, as Radeon 9800 Pro and a second entry underneath it as Radeon 9800 Pro Sec.

Anyone know if there should be a double entry?

Thanks
