Making my first PC build and I've got all the parts sorted but the graphics card/s. If I use Radeon HD 6950 CF would the tower I chose, a Cooler Master HAF 922, be able to cool them effectively, because I've read that they can run quite hot?

Cooler Master HAF cases are very good for air cooling from what I've read so I'd imagine you'd be fine.

If you really do want the best performance for air cooling you might want to check out the silverstone raven rv02-e case as it has superb cooling. They're quite pricey though.

Agreed, the HAF 922 is a great case for air cooling. The only possible issue you may run into when running crossfire 6950s is that the 922 is relatively short and the PSU (on the bottom) sits quite close to the bottom of the motherboard, so depending on how you are configuring your cards (most likely trying to separate them as much as possible) the PSU could get in the way a bit.

Hence it may be worth considering going for a slighly bigger case. The HAF 932 for example is basically the same design and a fair bit taller - so you wouldn't have this issue. Considering you are spending ~£400 on graphics card it may be worth investing the extra £26 on the case.

May I ask what the full spec of your planned system is (have you already ordered everything?) and what will you be mainly using it for? (we may be able to recommend you some kit so you can get a better system for your money)

I can second that as a RV02 owner. Keeps everything very cool.

The Full spec of my planned system is this:

Motherboard - Asus P8P67 Pro Intel P67
Processor - i5-2500K
CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus
RAM - Kingston HyperX 8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Case - Cooler Master HAF 922
PSU - XFX Pro 750W
Optical Drive - Asus 24B3ST DVD Burner
Hard drive - Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 7200rpm

I was just planning on getting 1 Graphics card now, but I wanted to make sure the other components were good enough to put 2 in CrossfireX when I want to upgrade (which could be relatively soon).

And no I haven't ordered anything yet.

What resolution are you gaming at?

6950 is great for 1900x1200 and two will tear thru most things.

Use mine at 2560x1440 and it good :) Even one at that res would be ok...but twos always better :)

Have you considered getting an ssd? Best up grade you will ever do trust me :)
