I have tried to search for any other threads relating to this but cant find any so appologies if I missed any...
i bought a Powercolor HD4870x2 from Overclockers the very first day they came out, so must be a good couple of years old, but recently this has started rebooting and becoming unstable. I know that this is because it runs as hot as magma so i removed heatsink and reapplied thermal paste. This did cure the problem for about 6 months but now it is again unstable so I have a few questions...
1. I heard that ati/amd gives three year warrenty but is this now null and void since I took off the heatsink myself or can i hold out for a replacement/fit?
2. if warrenty not an option can I get a better aftermarket cooling solution for it as I am fairly sure that this would cure it! I cannot find any other than references to one called Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme but these seem rarer than hens teeth.
