Radeon HD7850 upgrade path?

For the Mrs machine, her 7850 has just given up the ghost after many years of service. She games at 1080 and plays a verity to games.

I've got two options, give her my 980 and buy a 980 Ti or just replace.

Budget for her replacement only : up to £230
Budget for pass me down : 570.

Thoughts please guys?

This is irrelevant. He appears to have permission from his Mrs to upgrade to a 980ti therefore that's the only logical option. Do it before she changes her mind!
