Well the fury line up has been a dissapoinment ,maybe the nano which is released in August will be AMD's knight in small armor??

Now another month of speculation and anticipation of the build up ?

AMD you decide

Why do you think it'll be anything special? We've already seen what they need to do to cool the Fiji cards and control the heat and doing that in a small form factor seems very unlikely so this has got to be an extremely cut down/declocked card so performance won't be all that when you consider what the performance on the air cooled Fury is like. I remember AMD saying it will out perform a 290x, whoopee.
I know it's got to be a Fiji chip for HBM but I think it'd make sense if it was the full Tonga chip.

If they hit the specs and marketing right it could be a good little seller for AMD.

Hopefully it will sell well but it won't be anything special performance wise. Look how big the cooler there using to tame the Fury is then look at the size of the nano.
I hope it's not another 94 degree beast. That wouldn't be good for the sff builds people want to use them in.

Total heat output into the case, not temp would be the concern. It will pull around the same power as a 970/980 if their slide is to be believed, how are sff ppl getting on with the 970 itx versions? Nano looks to have a larger rear vent than the Asus 970 itx as it lacks the space taken by DVI connector. Heatsink appears thick enough to handle ~175W, visually looks a bit bigger then the Asus 970 itx (which is prob underclocked/volted to pull a bit less power than regular 970). I Expect it to take advantage of a large delta to help dissipate heat with less noise but not to hit 90c. Probably settle at around 80-85 at worst but it is speculation on my part. It's the price that I am really wondering about.

Yup, but again it looks like they'll get the pricing wrong. I'm guessing £500ish...

No if they do it 3 times in a row they go bust. £300 great price . I will get 2 in xfire.. £500 dream on AMD

Apparently your only going to lose 5 fps due to lower tdp.

If you have fury x reduce your power target aand see that you lose 100w and lose3-5 fps

They couldn't price it that high could they?

If they did I can't imagine it selling.

Well the Fury is technically on sale but isn't really 'selling' ;)

I should imagine they're trying to find a balance between price and supply at present, as we know these chips will be quite constrained for a little while...

Will be another massive fail, as they touted it as being faster than the 290/980, but it won't be, as even the Fury non X is faster than those old cards, and the FX is just about on par with em, slightly faster in some, and those are clocked quite a bit higher than what these are supposed to be.

Please don't be crap, please don't be crap, please don't be crap.

Cmon AMD, I couldn't live with myself if I bought another nvidia card.

Fury isn't disappointing... the only disappointing thing is the pricing of them and the pump problems with the Fury X...
If the Fury had an nvidia label on it they would be selling millions, it costs £50 more than the 980 and performs better in every benchmark, as the res goes up so does its lead over the 980.
Fury X on the other hand.... cooler is good, but pump whine, stock issues and performance are pretty poor.

ANYWAY. I like the idea of the nano, if they can get the clock and core count right I can see it being between a 390X and a Fury and being cooled with an ITX cooler.

The AMD line up is certainly getting very crowded that's for sure. They seem to be now competing against themselves rather than against Nvidia.

I think at lower clockspeeds and binned parts their adaptive voltage control will do better than at fury clocks/volts. There is an element of brute forcing it with the FuryX.

According to techpowerup the Asus fury strix pulls avg ~200W with 3584 shaders at 1000MHz.
I can see a 4096/3584 (whichever it may be) fiji at 900MHz easily dropping 25W and matching 390X at 1080p and pulling up alongside the 980 at 1440p.
