RESOLVED - TY Xplo. :)

Recently bought a new card from Overclockers for my son, a Gigabyte Radeon R9 270 2048MB.

Popped it in his comp but no dvi signal to monitor. Have put it in my comp and it works fine.

My PSU is a 450W Corsair, my son's is a 430W Corsair Bronze. Radeon recommend 450W but figured the 430W could handle it.

Figured I'd try running the card off of my PSU sitting alongside my son's with his PSU running the rest of his comp. Still no DVI signal.

Son's mobo is a Intel DH67BL. Can't see any compatibility issues there but i'm not a knowledge.

Would I be better swapping out my PSU into my son's comp entirely to more reliably test? What else could be causing the problem?

Ta!

I think rather than a power problem that you've ruled out its a case of not being detected by motherboard/bios in that pc.

Being an intel motherboard sounds like its an oem sustem like a dell or similar, might not have the right bios update for the new R9 cards. Do you know if the pc is getting past boot stage, and just not displaying a signal, or if it is hanging at boot? Check and report back your boot codes/beeps, or if your getting a single beep still as if there is no problem

Thanks for getting back. Beeps are the same with both cards.

With original card, single beep at start of bios display on monitor, then another single beep when Windows starts to load. About 8 seconds between them.

Timing is the same on the new card.

The mobo I bought a couple of years ago from the Overclockers clearance line section.

Have done a bit more investigating this morning. PLayed with Bios settings and I know the second beep above is 'no video detected' as I disabled that and the second beep didn't sound. So, I think Xplo is correct. Have tried to the Express bios update available from the Intel website to the latest version using their 'Express' installer via Windows. Update failed. Have never done a BIOS update before and am about to Google. Any other overall thoughts still very much appreciated. Thanks.

Solved now after flashing the bios by USB. Thank you Xplo for steering me in the right direction. It's really appreciated. :)
