Radeon RX 500X Series Spotted on AMD’s Website

I will be interested to see what the RX550X offers.

I genuinely couldn't care if it is not a great gaming card. Nobody buys rx550 to game with anyway. You know I am buying one the second these hit the shelves. Will go nicely alongside the other 8 rx550's

Oh dear a rebrand of a rebrand, even if it is only for the OEM market, they havn't even changed anything, particularly poor showing from AMD.:(

This ain't really a re-brand tbh, it's still got the 580 name. Had it been called 680 i would consider it a re-brand. If it uses less power as some suspect then the X just donates it's a newer chip. I suspect the oem's wanted something new to put on there spec sheet and this is the best AMD can do atm.

This
A rebrand would be a new naming SKU with the same spec. 580 to 680 etc

It's a refresh of a rebrand.
Whilst it's not a bad thing, it's really nothing to talk about.

Yea it's nothing to get excited about or even news tbh. It's oem's wanting something to market imo. I doubt we will see anything from AMD this year which is disappointing to say the least. AMD seem to be on a 2 yearly release schedule now which will only make things worse for them as Nvidia are yearly and moving forward.

Totally agree with you on the oem market, and the 2 year schedule vs Nvidia 1.
Unfortunately AMD graphics division is on life support. Until we see a brand new architecture and not this Hawaii-tonga-Fiji-vega hybrid then we're in for a long wait. I have a feeling this time round Nvidia are going to pull AMd's pants down by embarrassing them with a laptop chip that outperforms the Vega.

Pascal products first appeared in May 2016, correct? There has been nothing to replace them yet and next month will be two years...

I thought this when I seen the thread, thank god, as they say - great minds think alike!

Vince, what about the "RX 540X" as the new mining budget king? :)

Oh wait its in a laptop - booo hisss - would have been a challenge to push them in desktop form oh well.

To me it doesn't really matter if it is a rebrand of a rebrand. I am really interested in the 540x, basically with amd cards as far as I can tell it doesn't really matter how bad a card it is or how crippled from a graphics/gaming point of view, if its got gddr5 you can basically make it do 400h/s plus. If the rx540 is cheap as chips and has gddr5 ill buy one so we can find out.

I still have quite a few free slots available, only one left in the mining rig, but my main rig is only rocking 3 gpu's atm so space enough to try a couple of the absolute bottom of the stack again. The 550 was surprisingly good so why cant something even worse be? I mean the 550 absolutely trounces the 1030 and 1050ti I bought to test at least from a mining point of view and they also offers much more in the way of ways to break it.
