Radeon VII

Y

Yeah it's a little daunting, I've put my custom water cooled vega 64 on ebay to sell in preparation for this golden day, but not having any news other than 7nm 300w might be 2080 level is either a really bad sign, or a REALLY good sign and that we might be blown away

What are you really expecting? AMD have given there official number, around 15-40% over a V64, averages mostly in the 20-25% range.
Reviews will liekly show performance slightly worse than that but these are the ballpark figures.

Theonly relative unknown is stock/supply. if some rumours are true availability will be poor and prices will thus get pushed higher.

Yes they were at crap value for money. Seems amd is following suit.

It's just a very expensive card to build. If rumours are true an issue with Navi was found late in the day forcing AMD to release a card they never even wanted to make.

Rayfield was disengaged and very superficial. He would delete all his emails each week that he could not get around reading and would never work weekends or after 5 PM. He would pontificate in an abrassive manner and couldn’t remember any names [ of his peers].

Rayfield denied to Lisa Su that there was a talent problem and that the talent that had recently exited form AMD wasn’t actually an issue. He diend that there was a talent war going on [Usman: You can read up about the talent war here]

He presented suggestions that werent really feasible such as ‘Radeon VII ‘ which was to be a Vega 20 based consumer facing part that cost $750 to build and would barely tie in with an [NVIDIA] GTX 1080 Ti.

Vega VII is a stopgap, built at high cost, to keep AMD relevant in the high end until Navi is ready.
