i purchased 2 radeon X1800's from yourself one crossfire edition and one standard edition to use in my pc at the moment im not trying to run them both at the same time im using them just 1 at a time for testing purposes. When i use the crossfire edition card everything works fine and i have no problems at all.

When i remove that card and put in the standard edtion card i start getting graphics errors happening such as random lines appearing in games and i also get red pixels appearing in random places over the screen. I have updated all my motherboard drivers and graphics drivers and im still having the problems making the card unuseable

I have contacted overclockers many times but they wont do anything about it as they claim its "power issues" i have even tested it in my mates computer who has a radeon crossfire setup working fine but he gets the same graphics problems as i do!

The rest of my computers spec is:

sus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire (Socket 939) PCI-Express Motherboard (with updated firmware)

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (Socket 939)

Hiper HPU-4B580 Type R 580W Modular ATX2.2 PSU

Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre 2005 Edition

G.Skill 4GB DDR HZ PC400

Any Help out there because overclockers are useless and im feeling ive wasted £300

they wont give me a RMA number for it as "its not faulty its power issues" thats all i get out of them after 7 webnote messages and 4 phonecalls i just dont know what else to try as its a long trip to actually go up there!

Hi there

From looking at that your PSU might be an issue as the Hiper 580W is not a true 580W unit its just an average quality PSU, a Sparkle, Enermax 500W is superior.

However your Crossfire card runs fine so I believe this not to be the issue but I must warn you that in Crossfire systems we build we have found on the Sparkle units to provide enough stable amps to give a stable system. Even the Tagans sometimes cut-out as they cannot handle the load from two X1900's in crossfire but as your on X1800's which drain less power I think your Hiper 580W will cope fine.

I think you are correct and as your Crossfire card works fine and the slave card has issues in more than one machine I would say its maybe got a faulty core and hence why your getting graphics glitches. As a test try underclocking the core and memory by 100MHz to see if it goes away. If it does then the card is faulty.

Anyway give tech a call tomorrow at 9am and ask for Andy inform him of your problems and that you've spoken to Gibbo and he will sort things out for you! :)
