Was given a Radeon 5450 today. Being relatively new and having 1Gb on board ram I presumed it would be an upgrade over my 1950Pro (256Mb).

Of course, now that I have it and have read about it I can see it's a low power HTPC type card.

OK great, I'll keep it for that use. Will go well with my super cool E5200.

Which card though will be better for general gaming? I was given a Alien v Predator steam license. Which would play that game better?

Thanks, that was a good review. I read a few last night too. Still no clearer on what would be better for playing AvP though.

Is their a way to benchmark AvP. I can run a test on 1950pro if possible to compare. I dont imagine it will fair well mind, as 256mb is very limiting for modern/current games
.

The Tom's Hardware link does have the 5450, it's 5 tiers down on the X1950. I'd say the X1950 is better for gaming...
