Radeon X600 - driver problems

Hi,
I have a new install of win 7 pro on a HP compaq desktop, 64bit. It has an AMD RADEON 7480D intergrated graphics card. I then installed a 256MB ATI RADEON X600 card from an old Dell desktop. Checking device manager the X600 has 2 exclamation marks (it a dual monitor card). I tried downloading drivers from ATI/AMD, even used the driver download utility which caused the systems to crash and boot back to a black screen with cursor. Was able to log back in but cant get the X600 to work.

I previously had the card working on another win 7 pro pc also hp and remember fluffing around to get the card working but it was more trial and error and just looking for a correct way. Any ideas? Also PC has 4x and 16x PCI slots, does it matter where i installed it?

Solved....Disabled the on-board, rebooted and all okay! Last time i did that I lost all graphics

Just curious, why are you using the X600 over the 7480D? I would've thought the 7480D will perform better than the old X600. Looking at this shows the 7480D is a good few tiers above the X600.
