Guys,

My missus PC has just throw a wobbler and i think the gpu has cooked itself.

I want a replacement card for her - soemthing of the same ilk or better really. Nothing ott as its only a p4 3 gig.

Its a pci-e card. prefer soemthing that doesnt need an additional power supply also.

Any advice/offers - older cards welcoemd :)

You're on the right track i think, just not a low profile card.

I'm not too certain what modern gfx cards are going to not need an external power supply.

But I'm guessing that anyone would do.. its a tricky one.

Anything under £70 or so new will not require external power. If you want decent gaming performance, a 4670 is your best choice, but if you just want a replacement then anything will do - 6200, 7300, HD2400 etc. etc.

It's probably easier to just set a budget for the new card, and find the best for your money. I agree with reflux, a 4670 is a decent option, that would quite happily run WoW.

Theres no point getting the 1GB version, that card isn't powerful enough to use the extra RAM. Go for the 512MB version instead.

Also, it doesn't require an additional power connector, so that should be fine as long as your PSU is fairly stable (400W+).
