Hey guys ,

Can anyone give me an idea how much cooler push pull would be in comparison to just push, im getting feser triberwerk fans to go with either a gtx 480 or a feser rad i need to know if buying an extra 4 fans to pull is worth the extra noise and money thanks in advance.

Fan + shroud performs roughly on a par with fan + shroud + fan. Best set up is inevitably fan + shroud + radiator + shroud + fan. 25 quid per fan is pretty steep if you're planning on buying eight of them. 38mm yate loons with a sheet metal shroud might be a better idea.

What're you intending to cool with this, and what air/water temperature difference are you planning on maintaining?

Those Feser fans are ridiculously priced and should be avoided in my opinion. How any company can justify that much for a fan is beyond me. I don't care how good they are, they are not worth £25.

I have three 120x38mm Yate Loons mounted on a shroud pulling air through my PA120.3 and have them turned down to 900rpm which makes them nice and quiet. Excellent cooling too.

the fesers are 10db quieter and push the same air rate they also have less of a dead spot if there are any fans that beat these stats please share, im more interested to know how much better push pull is over just push thx

i am looking to cool a i7 950 do at 4 ghz and two gtx295s overclocked is 88cfm overkill with the right rad maybe i could drop to 65cfm or is that weak sauce? thanks again

Push/Pull may give you a very small benefit if you choose the right fans for the rad. Depends on whether the rad has dense fin or wide fin spacing and running high speed or low speed fans.

In reality, i doubt you would see any noticble temp drops using 8 fans over 4 fans ( maybe a degree or 2 at the most ).

Unless you have 8 fans already and test it yourself, i wouldn't spend another £40 ( or £100 if you go for the Fesers !!! ) on 4 extra fans.

You're looking at the wrong stats. Flowrate, as quoted in cfm, is meaningless for a radiator fan. Noise in dB or dBA is meaningless for any computer fan, as manufacturers never state testing methods so are free to write whatever number they feel like. You want static pressure, and the more you can get, the better.

This will almost certainly feature 38mm fans, probably 3000rpm ones undervolted to bring the noise levels to something sane.

ok im happy with that answer i will stick to just 4 fans can you help me choose between the black ice gt xtreme and the thermochill pa which is better? thanks for your time
