Radiator blanking caps..

Do they only come in 1/2" and 3/4" sizes? Ive got both and neither fits

The 3/4" inch cap almost fits but it needs to be a bit wider to fit over the valve to properly screw in. What gives?

Its to seal off a radiator valve, some drips started coming from the trv so i took it off and i was gonna blank it off, from this thread:

These radiators are about 16 years old , house was built in 97 and they are original.

The valve in your original thread is a Myson II ( old type ), people have brought them into my shop before. This is the updated version http://www.myson.co.uk/trv_2_way.asp

BTW do the drayton TRV4's always come with a lockshield?

I saw one in B&Q and it came in a packet with a lockshield, but i see them online and theres no mention of a lockshield in many places. Will it depend on the retailer, some might just send me the bare TRV and no lockshield?
