Radiator fan question

Is it a bit OTT to 3 fans on the top and 3 on the bottom of a radiator ?

Seen it on quite a few pictures of various builds , is it worth it ?

Horizontal - Hashes are fans and the equals is the rad.

Thanks for the responses. Some good advice.

Is there any good advice on attaching your fans to the rad ? Do's and Dont's ?
