I would read up carefully on that device. When you have more than one fan being controlled from a common fan output it can only monitor ONE RPM and send a single speed "request". So for example it will monitor the RPM of fan 1 and send a common % signal to ALL of the fans. Usually PWM fan controllers have one output that corresponds to that - it has four pins, the rest have three pins since their RPM is not monitored. So with that device its really not clear which one is the monitored fan. Also there is no power input to the device so this is literally a splitter as opposed to a powered splitter, meaning that you can not exceed the power limit of the fan header controlling this device.

There are others around that control more fans and have SATA connectors. There is a similar device to the one you found on ebay that has ten outputs and is powered. Just look up Powered PWM Splitter. With the one I saw, the monitored fan output is the RED one. They are about £3 but of course come from China.
