Thanks for the info all! Will bear it in mind, i'm sure when it gets to the point washing is taking five days to dry i'll probably pull the trigger and wonder how I lived without on for all these years 
@Gammawolf, thanks for the heads up, luckily I live by myself and am rarely at home so energy bill over the summer has been less than £50 a month, now with the £400 discount I imagine my winter bill is going to be less than £20-30pm
