my brother has just had a new battery fitted in his clio, and now he has no access to his radio cd player because he has forgot / lost the code
is there a way to get this code without taking it to a ranault garage and getting charged a zillion pounds ?

cheers motor guys !

Happened to me once, ordered a set or keys on the auction site for a few pounds and removed the radio and the key was wrote on the top of it mate.
Worth a go.

Most standard stereos are not worth stealing nowadays as there is no call for them with newer cars having integrated stereos.
I guess so, it does seem that mainly aftermarket headunits tend to get targetted than OEM ones...

Still, I guess the dealers may make a little extra money from people who are in the same situation as the OP... So it is in the manufacturers interest to have the codes in the first place.
