Radio decoding

I've got a JVC head unit that I took out of my volvo before I sold it. Stupidly I left the scrap of paper that had the unlocking sequence on it in the paperwork and I can't get hold of the new owner (sold to a dealer then a third party).
I've got the remote which is what the codes are entered via, but need to locate an unlocking tool or service to either reset to determine the code.
Can anyone point me in the direction of somewhere I can get this done as the Ford unit in my Mondeo is rubbish!

Your best bet is proberly searching google somthing will come up i bet. i had a simular trouble with a standard radio player which got locked on my rover but after browsing 100 sites i found what i was looking for. hope that helps a bit

is this JVC headunit a standard volvo one?

if so, you will be able to retrieve the code via many of the 'bay sellers for a very small amount of dough.

I'm being totally dense! It's not a JVC, it's a Sony and it's an aftermarket unit.

Have you tried freezing it?

Post the model and the serial number here, I may be able to help.
