Hello chaps.

I bought an Alpine 9847R ages ago but have never been able to get the radio working!

It didn't work in the 205 and it doesn't work in my Fiesta either. The arial cable is firmly plugged in and i've searched through the band for a station but it's not picking anything up, not even a weak signal!

What am I doing wrong? :(

That's correct yeah.

There are no problems with everything else it's just the radio which doesn't work, including AM.

It's plugged in using an ISO adapter yeah.

Are there any online shops that I can order one of those adapters?

it's not a foreign import unit is it ?

No no, I bought it from caraudiosecurity.com (hope that's not a competitor - if so remove).

Thanks 'emailiscrap' (it is indeed) for the advice :)

Thanks but what does this mean:

The adaptor has a separate wire which must be attached to the electric aerial output of your new stereo.

I don't think mine has such a thing?

YOU WILL ALSO REQUIRE AERIAL ADAPTOR E115

Going by the picture, that doesn't look like it would work. The slot that the arial goes into looks similar to a headphone jack.

Can you literally not get anything, even if you manually tune into a strong local station? If this is the case and you've tried it in two cars, then I suspect the unit itself may be faulty, and therefore a signal booster may not do anything.

Nothing at all. It makes that white noise sound though. The original ford unit was working just fine.

Coming to think of it, in the 205 the arial would easily pull out if you just wiggled it so i'm now thinking the arial connector is too small for the hole...
