Radio Reference Scanner Thread.

There aren't any British feeds on this only American. I don't think it is illegal.
Many Thanks to Burnsy2023 for putting the link in the other thread as I didn't know about this before.

No it's no illegal. The British network is digital and encrypted though, so it's not possible to do the same here.

You're welcome :)

I don't get how it's OK in the States, yet it was a no-no over here.
Also, how come US still using analog transmissions? I would have thought 9/11 would have been a major push for them to go digital.

Odd.

They still quotes in inches and pounds, you'd think the entire rest of the world progressing would be enough for them, but nope. No way, Never.

Well, parts of it. It is possible to 'help out' using HAM radio.

You've lost me a bit there.
For a start, ham isn't capitalised. And secondly, we don't have any way to attach amateur radio equipment to the encrypted police comms network. Radio amateurs may get involved with helping the police but we can't tune into their communications directly.

Odd.

There are hundreds of law enforcement agencies and fire/EMS services over there, getting them all to do anything the same would be extremely difficult.
