Please help.

I bought the following bundle:

Radon Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle

from overclockers but after I got the PC and installed everything when I run CPU-Z it only states that my PC is running at 2.6GHz and not the 4.00GHz as advertised. Am I just missing something and my CPU is overclocked or have I done something wrong in the installation? Everything went smoothly in installation as far as I can tell...

Please anyone out there tell me I'm just being stupid and missing something...

:)

You need to go into your bios and load the OCUK Bios profile.

Tap Del a few times when u turn on PC, once in Bios hit F12 it shld bring up Bios profiles, Load OCUK. then boot up, if not look around in bios.

You can see in Bios what your CPU is clocked at.

looks to me like it's because his system is idle. When your pc isn't doing anythign intensive it will reduce the speed of the cpu. Run prim95, intel burn test or even an intensive game like crysis and it should go up.

Just for info pressing F12 once in Bios does nothing. I have tried looking for a place to load OCUK profile or something but cant see anything.

The option I have are: Main, Ai Tweaker, Advanced, Power, Boot, Tools and Exit.

My system has been idle everytime I have tried the CPU-Z test so I'm going to try sdtress testing it. I assumed (maybe wrongly) that once a system is overclocked it would simply run at that speed permenantly - must be wrong.

My Bios states that the RAM is 1066 and CPU is 2.67GHz still.

Ty for your help so far guys - appreciated.

Just tried a torture test - didnt leave it on for long (Blend on Prim95) maybe 5 minutes and had the CPU-Z running - Core speed did not rise above 2.67Mhz.

Should I leave test running for longer?

There should be something in the Tools menu I think.

If it's an ASUS motherboard then something like: ASUS Overclock Profile

This should have 1 or 2 profiles already saved there.

However, I am NOT sure if this is how Overclockers save a profile or not.

EDIT: ASUS Overclock Profile should be what you are looking for

I checked and it is already set as the ASUS overclock profile but when I click onto it there are 10 options: 1. Blank 2-10 read 'profile 1', 'profile 2' etc etc. Do I select a profile? Is there a way to contact overclockers to ask if there is something I should do?

I have contacted them - ty

Did go into tools and found the Asus OC profile and saw profile 1 had OCUK. I'm not quite sure how to load that profile - getting scared of doing things like that in BIOS so I'm just going to wait for support I think.

That is the one you want.

Should simply need to go to load and pick that one. Failing that read the motherboard manual!?

Problem is that even though on the left of the screen it clearly states Profile 1 is OCUK on the right of the screen when I choose to load athe OC profile it only says 'profile 1' and not OCUK. Tried going a little further and it brought up a new menu with lots of things on it. At that point I started getting scared....again....lol

This, all our bundles have speedstep enabled(Intel ones) and this is usually the case.

You need to go into your bios and load the OCUK Bios profile.

You can see in Bios what your CPU is clocked at.

If the CPU speed doesn't jump up under load try this. You simply have to select "profile 1" which is titled "ocuk" when loaded it will say "profile 1 loaded" this means your overclock profile is loaded and will now be overclocked. Once you have done that try putting the system under load and check CPU-Z again to see if the speed goes up to 4GHz.

Hope this helps :)

I did get a response from Overclockers support:

Stated thatI should run Prime95 and CMU-Z as well and that Speedstep being enabled would kick in because it was enabled....

Went into BIOS ---> Speedstep [Disabled] :(

Changed that and now CPU-Z is showing core speed at 4GHz when first loading system, 1721GHz when I'm typing this and 4Ghz again when I run Prime95. I swear I didnt fiddle with this - so Overclockers.co.uk just forgot to enable it?
