Anyone here in Oxford area saw the 5 RAF aircraft flying in formation pretty low earlier today?
Flew right over my street, but I can't ID the aircraft :(

Don't think they were Harriers, but could have been Typhoons or Tornados
Well they could have been Hawks, but I thought RAF ones were blueish in colour and these were that grey typical aircraft colour
(and pretty sure they were not Gripen)

I dunno that's the thing, heard the noise during F1, got up, went to window, looked up ... saw 5 of em flying pretty low and in the V formation :(

Didn't see them for long enough to identify what they were, I'm not sure the wings were quite that large though :(

They were certainly hauling ass towards either Brize Norton, Fairford or Lyneham.
Never seen them fly over the housing area that low before, do have them train over the fields behind the houses time to time (but we are taking about 1-2miles away from houses usually)

im going to guess that its something to do with blenheim palace international horse trials as it was there last day today. mabey search for fly over in relation to that? :) for some reason there website only says about horses!

Weren't going to or from Blenheim as, they were going basically along the route the A40 follows into Oxford (roughly) so 90 degrees to Blenheim.

Do we have any F15 Eagles in UK either from the Yanks or from our own Air Force? (though don't the Yanks usually fly in a formation of 4 rather than 5?)

I swear they were armed as well, or were carrying extra fuel tanks instead of arms as they had plenty of stuff dangling down :(

Man, why am I the only person on the whole of the internet to notice some fighter jets flying in a close 5-V formation carrying arms or extra fuel :(

why all the sad faces OP?! :( its awesome! :D

This is of topic and abit random, but would the US fighters based in the UK engage should the base be attacked for any reason?

Because I can't work out what the planes were or why there were flying lol
And I would hope the US fighters help out and would expect them to really
