Just got a little more info.

From 12th June to 31st July A10s from Germany will be deployed to RAF lakenheath.

They plan both rocket, strafe and bombing using both practice bombs and 500 lb bombs. They will be using both Wash ranges, RAF Wainfleet and RAF Holbeach.

No mention of the Avenger cannon in use though.

A lot of waiting, some guess work, a lot of research, some maps, a 30D and a 100-400 L IS.

On the side of a large mountain / hill (around 400 to 500 ft).

some amazing shots there, I am really impressed. It looks like you where slightly above ground level when taking some of the shots, where you on a high hill or actually a passenger in an aircraft yourself?

I thought the same but figure he was a the top of a hill and the jets were banked 90deg to him.
