I've had my eye on a couple of games in the sales and they have yet to appear.

RAGE is one of them. I have been looking across the net for a reasonably priced copy to download. I can't seem to nail down a decent price for it so may have to fork out some additional pennies.

For those that have played the game..how does it fare? Can it be compared to Borderlands? (I loved that game). Just trying to figure out how much I am prepared to pay for it.

I played it on a friends Steam account and it was entertaining enough but not exactly ground breaking. I wouldn't have paid any where near full price but you can pick it up for £11 in a couple of places online, which isn't bad value.

RAGE was in the Steam Christmas Sale for £15 (IIRC) last week.

(edit - just checked, it was indeed £14.99 on Day 5 of the sale)

I paid £14.99 for it in the sale after playing it on a housemates PC and its kinda like a more refined version of borderlands, in terms of single player experience anyway. Its my "rainy day" game at the moment which I'm saving for a time where I have literally sod all to do and fancy something different from BF3 and skyrim lol.

I had a lot of trouble getting this game stable, when I did finally get the game to run without texture pop in or flicker I enjoyed it... for a while then I just rushed through it for the story and to be honest not sure why I bothered... Woeful ending, and totally forgettable..

Oddly I tried to replay the game again a few weeks back and now the game just CTD all the time, and to be honest I can't be bothered with it.. I guess this tells you all you need to know... Its ok but nothing special about it at all.

Oh and the textures up close look nothing short of dismal, but looks good from a distance...

IMO its a very good game.

I thoroghly enjoy it, its well put together and the graphics / animation are really good. I actually got it on release, looking back I wish I had waited until it came down to £20 or less. The one major thing that holds it back in this day and age of 'graphics' is the bad streaming of textures ingame.

Terrible coding of a game and apparently id software blames everyones machines, its nothing to do with the game engine not streaming textures properly. Smells like cow poo to me.

If you look past the graphics problem, the game underneath is actually very good and very 'ID-esque'.

It's a pretty bad game, I don't know anyone who liked it, several of us played for maybe 2-3 hrs then uninstalled it. Borderlands is better in every way apart from graphics. I'll take gameplay over graphics thanks :)

Hmmm....tough one. Maybe I'll save my money until the price drops to something I don't mind spending on a mediocre game.
