ok ive got 2x 200gb 7200.10's and 1 samsung 80gb all sata II

so im planing on raid 0 on the 2 seagates, but would it be better for gaming performance if i put the games on the raided aray after i install windows or put them on the samsung?

im thinking that while windows (dual boot) is running on the 2x raid 0 drives they will be to busy to load game maps etc so it will be quicker to load them from a seperate drive

whats your opinion ?

can you suggest the best use of my drives for gaming

thanks in advance

Ive done something simular but with 2x 160GB Samsung drives in Raid 0 for windows/apps/games and a seperate drive for backup.

I setup this array wih a 32Kb stripe size and its really dissapointing. It feels no faster than a single drive, and it seems perhaps slower. e.g. If I leave media player running with some mp3's going and do something else moderatley intensive like extracting a large .rar archive, the music slows down and starts stuttering. Its definatley not my cpu as only roughly 30% is being used on each core.

Any ideas chaps? I use my PC for Gaming but also for media centre and recording tv etc.

Would I have been better with a larger stripe size, like 128KB?

whats youre specs mate

i was gonna go 16k cluster/stripe
